“Untitled Mississippi Project,” Maxine Productions — writer, executive producer

A feature length, verité, documentary. The project is based on several articles I wrote for BuzzFeed News in 2019. It  has started filming with funding from Sony and BuzzFeed, though is still in the development stage.

The first national news story to expose DHS agencies’ mistreatment of pregnant people in their custody. Launched several ongoing federal investigations into ICE and CBP and inspired Senate legislation. 

“Military Doctors Told Them It Was Just "Female Problems." Weeks Later, They Were In The Hospital.”  - BuzzFeed News, March, 2019

An investigation revealing a pattern of near-fatal medical neglect of women in the military, which launched a government investigation. This work was a finalist for the SPJ Dateline Awards. 

“Police Departments Are Making Their Own ‘Cops’  Videos Counteracting Police Brutality Depicted On Social Media”  - BuzzFeed News, January 2022

An investigation into a new trend of police departments becoming their own TV channels and publishing platforms in an attempt to counteract cries for accountability due to social media videos of police brutality inspiring nationwide protests.
